Inspired by Nature
I’ve been surrounded by the beauty at Salt Air Lane for the last 40 years. Large oak, elm and pine surround us here in Maine. And it never ceases to amaze me how each piece of wood has it’s own timeline and story to tell.
My passion for wood turning originally began as a hobby out of my garage. I used trees that had been cut down on the land my wife grew up on. I started using the tools passed down from my father - and from there, started to craft candle holders, bowls, platters and small objects. Soon my passion grew into a way of preserving some of the bountiful beauty of nature surrounding us.
My hope is that the wood turnings I’ve created will be loved and used - that every time you pick one up, you smell the Salt Air and that this tree’s story will be passed on for future generations.
Each wood turning is hand crafted. Wood is recycled. We never cut down a tree to make our wood turnings. They are remnants of a tree already cut down by someone or has naturally fallen. And I still make them in my garage.
